Vote for George Washington!

thomas paineIn the upcoming Presidential election it would seem to be very important to consider what our first President of the United States said about one thing to look for:

“In every nomination, I have endeavored to make fitness of character my primary object.” And “I hope I shall possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most enviable of all titles, the character of an honest man!”–George Washington

James Madison, the Father of the Constitution said this: “If men were angels, no government would be necessary.”

Thomas Jefferson warned: “Do not bite at the bait of pleasure till you know there is no hook beneath it.” And then he added: “An honest man can feel no pleasure in the exercise of power over his fellow citizens.”

Thomas Paine warned: “Character is much easier kept than recovered.”

Abigail Adams warned: “We have too many high sounding words, and too few actions that correspond with them.”

Benjamin Franklin summed it all up: “Endeavor to speak truth in every instance and give nobody expectation that is not likely to be answered, but aim at sincerity in every word and action.”

Take these all to heart as you enter the voting booth this year!
