Easter Message

With Easter coming up, I though it would be good to quote some from C.S. Lewis, a Christian commentator and writer. He shares a little philosophy about Jesus Christ: “Among the Jews there suddenly turns up a man who goes about talking as if He was God. He claims to forgive sins. He says He has always existed. He says He is coming to judge the world at the end of time. . . . What this man said was, quite simply, the most shocking that has ever been uttered by human lips.” (“Mere Christianity”, C.S. Lewis, 1932, page 51.)

If you think that’s shocking, look at what the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has printed in their book called the D&C. (If you don’t know about the D&C, ask one of your Mormon friends or acquaintances. You will learn a lot.)

“Behold, I, God, have suffered these things (the crucifixion and atonement) for all, that they might not suffer if they would repent; But if they would not repent they must suffer even as I; Which suffering caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit—and would that I might not drink the bitter cup, and shrink—Nevertheless, glory be to the Father, and I partook and finished my preparations unto the children of men.” (Doctrine & Covenants, section 19, verses 16-19).

This Easter season, think of Christ and be Thankful!
